FGX International Inc. Launches New Collection of Eco-Friendly Reading Glasses

Green View™ frames from Foster Grant® and Magnivision® made from 100 percent recycled materials

SMITHFIELD, RI; August 3rd, 2009

FGX International Inc, a leading designer and manufacturer of non-prescription reading glasses, announced the launch of its Green View collection today, a line of eco-friendly, over-the-counter reading glasses now available in stores. This special collection features frames made of 100 percent recycled materials, prescription-quality lenses* and a renewable fiber case.

“Foster Grant and Magnivision are proud to introduce our new Green View collection to consumers,” said Bob Grow, Executive Vice President, Product Development. “We recognize the need for affordable and quality-reading glasses, as well as the need and our consumers’ desire to maximize environmental benefits. As with our other lines, the Green View collection offers fashion trend frames, quality lenses and accessible price points that our consumers can appreciate.”

The Green View collection includes men’s, women’s, and unisex styles with plastic frames made from 100 percent recycled materials. Lenses are hard-coated, thin, scratch-resistant and designed to reduce distortion. Spring hinges on most styles ensure a close and comfortable fit. The collection may be found at large retailers, including Walmart, Walgreens, Barnes & Noble and CVS stores nationwide, with prices starting at $16.

*Prescription-quality refers to magnification of the lenses

FGX International Inc. is pleased to announce the creation of a television advertising campaign for its Magnivision brand. As the industry leader in non-prescription reading glasses, Magnivision produced an educational campaign on Presbyopia that targeted the 40+ consumer in 2007, which ran in consumer print publications. In 2008 and 2009, the consumer advertising campaign is positioned to tell our consumers to "trust your vision to Magnivision", by relieving the presbyopia malady with Magnivision Reading Glasses rather than seeing an eye doctor.
